When you create an account: your name, email address, and a hashed password. When you upgrade to Pro: billing details are collected and processed directly by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. We also note where your signup came from (for example a search engine, a directory site, or a "Powered by" link on another product's changelog) so we know which channels work.
When you press "Rewrite for users" on a draft, or paste text into the public release notes generator, that text — and only that text — is sent to OpenAI to write the suggestion. Fizlog does not store what you paste into the generator. OpenAI processes it under its API data policy, which does not use API data to train its models.
The widget you install on your own product reads the changelog entries you publish. A "last seen entry" marker is stored in each visitor's own browser (localStorage) purely to show or hide the unread badge — this never reaches our servers.
By default the widget keeps only anonymous, aggregate statistics: how many times updates were viewed and links clicked, per update and per day. To prevent abuse and to count a like only once per visitor and day, we derive a short-lived hash from the visitor's IP address and browser; the IP address itself is not stored. If a visitor sends feedback through the widget, we store their message, the optional email they type, and the page URL they sent it from.
Customers on the Pro plan can choose to tell the widget who is logged in to their product. Only then do we store, for that project: the user ID the customer passes, and optionally the user's email and name; when the user was first and last seen; and which updates they opened, viewed, clicked or liked and what feedback they sent, with timestamps. The purpose is to show the customer which of their users saw which update.
For this data the customer is the controller and Fizlog acts as their processor: we use it only to provide the analytics to that customer, never for advertising, and we don't sell or share it. Activity is deleted automatically 12 months after it was recorded, and users not seen for 12 months are removed. Customers can delete an individual user's data at any time from their analytics page, and all of it is deleted when the project or account is deleted. End users who want their data removed should contact the product that uses Fizlog, or write to us and we will forward the request.
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in to your Fizlog account. No advertising or tracking cookies.
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Delete your projects at any time from the dashboard — this also deletes their statistics, feedback and any identified-user data; contact us to delete your account entirely.
